I have stopped updating on this blog and all future postings will be on the other blog of mine, A learning mum's blog...

We were on our way to Ipoh and my husband decided to stop by at Gua Tempurung, to introduce the place to our host daughter. We didn't have enough time to explore the cave.

We snapped some photos at the "miniature" cave at the entrance and the children played at the playground for a short while.

We also took a picture of ticket prices and tour details for future reference.

LEANING TOWER of TELUK INTAN, PERAK

Together with our host daughter from Austria, we went to the leaning tower in Malaysia, the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan (Menara Condong Teluk Intan). The tower is located in the center of a square surrounded by Jalan Pasar, Jalan Selat, Jalan Bandar and Jalan Ah Cheong.

My children had not been in the tower itself. They were so excited to be able to walk into the clock tower. The opening hours of the tower is from 8am to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays and 9am to 6pm during weekends and public holidays.

Here is a video of my little one's reaction when she heard the clock struck 5 in the evening.

TOOTH FAIRY

We went to the dentist today as there are 2 teeth growing behind Min's two bottom front teeth. As the baby teeth were already shaky, the dentist pulled them both out.

MATHEMATICS

2 months ago,
     LZ: Mummy, my year is what?
     Me: You are 9-year-old, and this year is 2013.
     LZ: Yeeee... want me to do maths only!

Today, a similar question was raised.
     LZ: Mummy, what year were you born?
     Me: This year is 2013 and I'm 41.
     LZ: Again, want me to do maths... this mummy ah!

She then went into her room and came out after a short while and asked,
"Mummy, that means all my friends in my class are 2004, right?".
"That means all your friends in your class is?".

I kept quiet and ignored her question. (I'm not answering that!)
She moved on to the whiteboard and did the subtraction.

MIN & HER HAIRDOS

Being only at 6-year old, Min loves to "play" with her hair. Tying up her hair in various patterns. She ties her hair to preschool everyday. She will sometimes think of the pattern she wants to tie the next day, and get her clips & so forth ready at the dressing table.

MIN MISSING HER FOSTER BROTHER

10 January 2013, Thursday

Tears welling up in Min's eyes while watching cartoon this evening. She called her sister and told her that she is missing Hikaru.

Yesterday too, while she's playing with my phone. I noticed that her eyes were watery and asked her what's wrong. She told me, she's she missed Hikaru.

FAREWELL TO THEIR FOSTER BROTHER FROM JAPAN

7 January 2013, Monday

It has been a year since Hikaru, our foster son from Japan came to stay with us and it is now "sayonara" time today. He'll be catching his flight at KLIA tonight. Together with his classmates, we bid him farewell at the local train station.

CHICKENPOX

September 2012

Min had taken the chickenpox vaccine when she was 1yo but she got the chickenpox!

Well, I think the doctor did mention that a low percentage of vaccinated children will still get chickenpox. They will have a milder form of the disease, lower fever, and a more rapid recovery. Thank goodness for it!

Found this idea in some website (can't remember which site now). I printed the world map and the girls were sticking those little flags together with toothpicks.

Last day of the 3-day school holiday. We went window shopping at AEON Bukit Tinggi, Klang. The girls got themselves a storybook each. We had some ice cream before heading back.

MAKING BRACELETS & ANKLETS

3-day school holiday and we were in KL. We bought some beads. The girls and their cousins made some bracelets and anklets.

AMRITA'S THANK YOU CONCERT

We were invited to a friend's daughter, Amrita's Thank You Concert at The Office Tapas and Grill, KL. Amrita had this concert to thank those who had contributed to her Ticket To Nashville Fund. Read more on her trip to Nashville here:

As it was Malaysia's National Day (31st August), the event started off with all of us singing the National Anthem, "Negaraku".

Amrita and her dad (KV) told us a little about their Nashville trip with some slides. Amrita also sang a few of her original songs.

Zhen gets to chat with her young idol and were all smiles. She loves listening to Amrita's CD.

The event then ended with another Malaysia patriotic song, "Tanggal 31".
